Brown Bottles & Stock

Welcome to my brown bottles and stock tablescape.
I happened upon a couple of bunches of stock at a local grocery store while searching for the perfect pink flowers to pair with my brown bottle collection. What I found were some bright pink stock. I actually took the last two bunches. My husband actually encouraged me to grab them all and I’m glad that I did. I am more than a little obsessed with their pop of pretty pink color and the delightful spikes of blooms clustered together, with their petals that are slightly frilly.

Stock in Brown Bottles
A beautiful, fragrant flower. Stock may be one of my favorite cottage style flowers. Stock is one of those flowers that seem to get overlooked. You might look at stock as a vintage romantic flower. Covered in pretty little bunches of blooms. I love their soft petals and delightful spicy scent. They work well with simple brown bottles. Did I ever mention how much I love pink and brown together?

They are so charming. A pretty mix of pinks that are perfect for a sweet centerpiece with rustic brown bottles. Oh, did I mention that they have the prettiest smell?

I love having stock on the table, so pretty, with petals gathering softly as they fall.

Creating A Centerpiece with Bottles & Blooms
How I created this centerpiece? Gather, collect and repeat, repeat, and repeat. Arrange the bottles to your liking down the center of the table. Fill your bottles with water and place a single stem or two of stock in each one. For this table I kept the tablescape bare just using brown bottles & stock and scattered dried oranges. Of course, one could always use a table runner, today I just chose to keep it bare.

Place Setting
This setting isn’t complicated. With my choice of pretty pink flowers from the local grocery store and simple white plates, crystal goblets, soft pink linen napkins and brown ribbon to tie up the flatware neatly.

Candles
Candlestick holders with an antique brass finish and a brown jar for a chunky candle for a little table ambiance. Nothing fancy. That brown jar is a true Rustic and Refound. It is a gathered Nevada desert find.

Chocolate is Brown for Brown Bottles & Stock
Chocolate for dessert. I mean what could be better than chocolate cupcakes? Um maybe chocolate cake? If anyone knows me, they will know that chocolate cake is one of my favorite desserts! Since I was working for a quick dessert cupcakes were for the win. These chocolate cupcakes with sprinkles were as delicious as they look.

Delicious chocolate cupcakes served on my grandmother’s vintage blue cake plate. All together, these pieces worked to create a simple yet charming and nostalgic inspired setting that your guests will love.

I hoped you liked Brown Bottles & Stock table scape. Just bringing a sweet nod to a simple brown bottle tablescape with chocolate cupcakes and pink stock.
