Treat Yourself to a Little Self-Care
Indulge Yourself
Treat yourself to a little self-care. February is the month of love. Why not love yourself too? Sometimes those stressful days get to us and while we can’t take a vacation away from it all, a bit of a break in the everyday routine might include a nice bath with plenty of serenity. You know, the bathroom isn’t just the place for us to get ready for the day. It can be a wonderful place to indulge in a calm, serene, and soul-nurturing place that allows you to make some time to put yourself first. To ‘regroup’ and ‘breathe out’ and restore a bit of balance to the craziness we often endure.

While not everyone has a bathtub to soak in- a hot shower can do wonders as well and can bring the same feeling and balance to your day as nicely as a bath.

The Right Atmosphere
Aside from self-care, another way to practice self-love through the act of giving is to treat yourself to something nice. Like creating the right atmosphere. Treating yourself is different from a self-care routine in that – this should be looked at as an occasional indulgence or gift to yourself, while a self-care routine should be viewed as an everyday necessity. Whether that’s getting your hair done, scheduling a massage, or taking a much-needed weekend trip, treating yourself is an important part of welcoming more self-love into your life and teaching yourself that it’s okay to indulge in yourself without feeling guilty. As women, we usually like soft and pretty, and plush details. Relaxing and free of distractions. Plush. Cozy. Indulgent. all come to mind.

Soak Up Your Favorite Bath Salts and Soaps
It wouldn’t be a rejuvenating bath if we didn’t incorporate some of our favorite bath salts and soaps. Whether you prefer sea salt or Epsom salts, bath salts naturally help to detox the body, relax the muscles, and give you an all-around serene and balanced feeling when you soak in them. Bath salts are a simple way to gift yourself a spa-day treatment every day. You can choose to make your own from scratch with your favorite essential oils or simply use Epsom salts. Bath salts are the perfect way to unwind, treat yourself, and relax. If you don’t like bath salts maybe a pretty bar of goats milk soap. Don’t forget a bath brush for exfoliation, a loofah, or a calming facial mask.

Chunky, Plush Towels
Don’t forget to add those spa worthy bath towels. Take advantage of those chunky towels to accessorize your bathroom. New towels are probably the most inexpensive way to refresh and update your bathroom. This is another way we can treat ourselves. And I do take advantage of those chunky towels for the bath, with bath salts and body oils.

Utilize a Bathtub Caddy or a Side Stool
A great tool to have for your bath if you want to have personal things close is to use a bathtub, caddy. While I can’t necessarily call it a caddy – I call it an old board. You know me… rustic and refound. A bath caddy or tub tray is just as it sounds – it’s a tray for the bathtub where you can set items to have better access to them while you soak. While you can put just about anything on a bath caddy/tray, a few ideas for things you might consider using include candles, bath salts, favorite soap, candle(s), flowers, book, a tablet, a journal, and a favorite beverage.

if you aren’t a fan of a bath caddy, having a simple stool next to the bathtub is also another great option for keeping your personal belongings in arms’ reach.

Something fun I have used in place of a stool is a vintage step- ladder– I love the quirkiness and charm it brings, and it is a great place to layer some candles and flowers.

Flowers in a Cup
An old vintage cup – with a broken handle may not be the safest container, but my heart just loves this cup. I love it even more holding a sweet floral arrangement or a few flowers. A floral arrangement or a few buds is a unique way to gift yourself. Flowers just add that much more pretty to a spa feel.

Vintage
A vintage cup and a vintage step ladder. A little touch of vintage here and there can add such warmth and charm to any home. Sometimes it’s all about using what’s on hand and perhaps hidden away or discarded. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Candles
Candles are another good way to add a bit of relaxation to a spa treatment. They are great for reducing stress and creating a warm, cozy ambiance in the home or bath that is perfect for nurturing the soul.

We might set aside some time each week to indulge ourselves in a spa routine that can help us to release stress and rejuvenate our energy. Treat yourself to a little self-care. Remember we can’t take care of the ones we love unless we love our selves as well.
Just love ir!!
