My Fall Things
Today I’m sharing my Fall things.

November is here. Suddenly we need 3 blankets, a candle burning at all times and a Hallmark movie we’ll half watch while scrolling the internet doing our Christmas shopping. I’d ask you what you are most excited about this Fall, but heck its almost over. We are fourteen days from Thanksgiving and seventeen days to December first. How did this happen? I don’t know when you officially start the Christmas season, by decorating your home and tree, I like to start the decorating the weekend after Thanksgiving. However, this year I’m getting pretty anxious to start. So, planning has commenced.
Since I’ve been out of this scene for a spell, I thought I would make this a bit of a random post on all my Fall things. So, you might see some DIY or just where I’ve been and or headed. So, hang tough and scroll.
Budget Friendly Fall DIYs – Apple Printing & Stamping on Flour Sack Towels
The early fall season brought about more flour sack stamping with a friend. What better way to create than sharing your craft with a friend.

I love this printing method. It’s an easy DIY project using acrylic paint with fabric medium and fresh fruit. Not only is it easy to do, but such fun and budget friendly. These towels look so fall-ish and would make great gifts.

For those who appreciate simplicity and versatility, flour sack printing is a must-try project. I simply used leaf stamps with brown acrylic paint and fabric paint medium to create a neutral color palette and minimalistic design. These towels can easily transition in your kitchen from September to November.

More Fall Things

Vintage Silver turned into Gorgeous Jack-O-Lanterns
I turned vintage silver into seasonal decor by adding jack-o-lantern faces. This turns your silver into such unique items. Using black duct tape and some crafted jack-o’-lantern faces, I put together some spooky, chic Halloween décor.

DIY Candlestick Holder
I love how cozy it feels to light candles in our home. Not only do candles provide the perfect ambiance to a room I absolutely love using tapered candles in décor. They are the perfect thing to add to your mantel, vignette, or table centerpiece! Sharing with you guys this super easy rustic DIY Candlestick Holder. The hardest part was finding that perfect rustic piece of 4X4. I love that this DIY Candlestick Holder centerpiece makes a huge statement when added to your dining room table but is actually super easy to make! A little Rustic and Refound or maybe refined with velvet ribbon bows. The ribbon and bows are so chic!

Fall/Halloween Things
If you know me, you know that I don’t like to buy a ton of store-bought Halloween items to decorate for the season. I decided to go forward with creating a little Halloween moment on this little table, by the front foyer, that I absolutely love. The vibe of it already has this moody feel and so I went about creating with it a “witches” corner. I wanted it to feel like a “witch” lived here and this is her gathered things. If that makes sense…in the most non demonic way possible. I enjoy creating for the season of Halloween, but I like to celebrate it for its creativeness…because truth is you can get really creative with Halloween. I kept it simple with stacks of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes, a table adorned with dark books, a knobby pumpkin, a bony-framed skull & hand, bundles of dried herbs, and candles, plus a hand-crafted witch’s broom and a quickly made sign that read, “Come witches.”

Have you ever seen a décor piece from your favorite shop and thought…I could totally knock that off, or found something thrifting and figured that you could make something cool from this???…but maybe what? While going through a box of bowl filler that I had recently purchased at Walmart, I came across these small round gourds. I had seen these really adorable Grandin Road eyeballs in their Halloween décor, and I kept almost hitting that buy button, but they were sold out. Yes, so I decided they looked like the perfect way to decorate any Halloween tabletop vignette and they were the perfect amount of creepy chic that I like for Halloween décor. The only thing I kept thinking was, how fun it would be just to try to make something like it. Then that light bulb moment went off in my head…that’s when I remembered the gourds. They had the ideal rustic finish that would be perfect for this vision of eye-ball chic décor. To add a little more creepy, I placed them under a glass cloche.

Gathered Corn Stalks – My Fall Tablescape
Funny story about these corn stalks. Originally, they were destined to be steer feed. Our neighbor that grows a garden brought them for us to feed the cows, steers. If you know me, you know I’m always looking for the potential in something… And the tops of the corn stalks looked like a pretty good vase filler for a simple, budget friendly fall arrangement. What do you think? Just a little FYI—my table runner is made from a piece of a Yo-Yo quilt I recently found at Vintage Market Days in Idaho.

A Basket Style Cornucopia
This basket-style cornucopia was created for a dear friend, featuring purchased faux pumpkins in classic fall colors, a mix of playful plaids, and bunches of wheat with other stems tucked in and around, spilling, from a Longaberger basket for a simple, seasonal display.

Old Horses – My Best Fall Things
I love these old horses! LB and Colonel – They consume a big part of my day. Feeding, cleaning their pens, walking them out to pasture, cleaning their feet, bathing them… some of this is not an everyday chore, but most of it is. However, I can’t get past the beautiful moments spent with them and their individual personalities. They’re old. They’re crippled up… and sometimes it puts my heart on the ground! They once moved with agility and speed, today they limp and move at a much slower pace unless going to the feed. They’re so eager to please, receptive for scratches and loves and I’m overjoyed when they meet me at the gate. When I find myself complaining about the daily chores for them, I remind myself of the many times that they took care of me chasing steers, roping big cows, branding calves, or running through the sagebrush to head off a stupid bovine that decided to quit the herd. So, when I start complaining…. I remind myself that “I get to…” I get to return the favor. They have been such a blessing from God…And I get to pay it forward.
