A Simple & Sweet Valentine’s Day Table for Two
Sometimes I can think ahead of the game and sometimes I don’t. This all started because of my husband’s birthday earlier in January. I wanted to bake him a cake, but with a shoulder surgery lifting things can often get in the way. So, I decided to bake him cupcakes. I went farther – I decided to put a bit of a Valentine’s spin on this. You know? Get the decorating this year for Valentine’s Day and a birthday done early! I feel kind of cheesy decorating for this day the older I get. However, I do love a great, simple and sweet tablescape that comes with all the cozy Valentine’s Day vibes that speaks to my romantic side and creativity – Here is a simple and sweet Valentine’s Day table for two done in January. Why not?
I decided to indulge my romantic side- A simple and sweet Valentine’s Day table for two.
I started gathering some of my red and white napkins and dishtowels from the Christmas pile, pretty milk glass compotes for pillar candles, tapers, lace, pretty dishes like vintage floral teacups, simple white plates to pull it all together and faux roses, (Yes, you read that right. Faux roses.) & dried baby’s-breath. My shoulder surgery dictated that I stay in – not traveling to the grocery store for real flowers so I grabbed things that I had on hand.
I added things that would speak to Valentine’s Day.
Simple & Sweet
A romantic table for two. For this table, I layered on the fresh red and white linens, white dishes, pretty teacups and for romance, candles. I thought of using linens or decor to create an inviting environment that allows you both to relax and take away from the stress of our day-to-day.
If it’s Valentine’s Day, do something as cozy as spending some time making a simple Valentine’s date treat or meal for that special someone. If you would rather not cook, ordering in your favorite meal is just as cozy…just don’t forget the desert.
