Everyday Whites
Everyday whites for the tabletop. With snow piled up outside, I thought it only fitting to celebrate an occasion using white dinnerware. How can you go wrong setting the table with fresh everyday white dinnerware?

White dishes, in all various shapes and sizes, adds a fresh and modern approach to any table setting. Whether white is used as a foundation, or as a layered accent alongside patterned plates, these simple place settings are attention grabbers and far from boring.

Mix & Match
Having a good variety of gathered white porcelain to choose from, they’re fun to mix and match. Whether you’re adding a little feminine ruffle, a playful scallop or a romantic heart, using different whites and shapes can subtly set the mood and add personality to any table.

White dinnerware is easy to collect, and a little too difficult to stop…I think I’m going to need another shelf! With that said I don’t mind if they don’t always match. This tablescape of everyday whites is a gathered collection from the thrift store to the department store.

More everyday whites with just a couple of mismatched teacups and saucers.
Elegant Simplicity
Some folks probably call all white boring, but for me it says elegant simplicity that elevates the dinner table. White dinnerware is a timeless classic, suitable for both everyday meals and dinner parties. It is a versatile choice that can be dressed up or down, reminding me of that versatile little black dress. White dinnerware also provides the perfect base for seasonal tablescapes. During the warmer months, white plates can be paired with vibrant table linens. I used some of my favorite, everyday whites, layered with lattice trimmed salad/dessert plates, crystal goblets, and crisp white napkins and lace trimmed tea towel for accent.

Vintage Silverware
Polished vintage silver-plate flatware for an eclectic and collected over time look adds to the elegant simplicity.

Simple Centerpiece
I am all about something charming on the table any time of the year and right now I’m feeling a bit more for spring. So, white baby’s breath flowers in a pickling jar were the flowers of choice for the everyday whites and a simple centerpiece.

Candles and place Setting layers
Of course, candles are always perfect for warmth and ambiance on a table, and the place setting layers are another way to add that as well. My go-to decor in the fall & winter is always to add candlesticks. I don’t even try to do it; it just happens naturally. I just love how when the candles aren’t lit it still adds an element of warmth to the space. Bronze taper holders with white candles! They also make a simple centerpiece that is so easy & you can change the look up with what you pair them with. If you don’t know where to start in your decor, start with some candlesticks & build off those.

A Little Bit of Bling with Everyday Whites
IYKYK. I like a little bit of bling! Adding those crystal goblets and a single crystal taper holder for the sparkle.

Mixing Metals
You may have noticed that there is a mixing of metals. Silver coffeepot, silver creamer holding a small candle and bronze taper holders. The bronze taper holders add a touch of warmth that may be needed for this little tablescape. I don’t mind the silver, bronze, and gold of the trim in the teacups adding the warmth.
A Neutral Tablescape

The Unexpected in Everyday Whites
By adding some antler sheds to the table, I added the unexpected. A true rustic and refound mixed with everyday whites for a touch of rustic elegance.

Reminder: pretty doesn’t have to be expensive. All things in this tablescape have been collected over time. Some gathered from the thrift, others department stores, or found. I hope enjoyed my way of using everyday whites and you may be inspired to complete your own.
