The Colors of Autumn
Weekend Roundup
Welcome to my weekend views. It was a rainy weekend for cozy over here and a little adventure. I am loving the start of our autumn season with a little rain in the valleys and snow in the mountains. We took a short trip up to Lamoille Canyon to see all the season’s colors of autumn. If you don’t live in the area, this is a beautiful canyon in the majestic Ruby Mountains of Nevada.

The Great Outdoors
The quiet getaway was a quick trip into the local canyon to take in the autumn colors. It was a good thing. Especially when you feel like you’ve been super cooped up. We enjoyed the cleaner air in the mountains and spent the a few hours enjoying a change of scenery and hiking a few short paths.

A definite chill was in the air with snow falling softly on the mountains. I managed to take a few snaps of the beautiful scenery and capture the amazing colors of autumn. I’m no expert photographer, but with these views it’s difficult to get a bad shot.
Colors of Autumn – Fiery Reds, Brillant Yellows, & Greens

This was the view down the hiking trail. Natures colors of autumn.
The Reds

Autumn is flinging her red fiery cloak over the vegetation.
The Brillant Yellows

Even the view of the fallen – golden leaves from the aspen trees were beautiful.

Just Taking in the Sights

Fall has always been my favorite season. “The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” – Lauren DeStefano, Wither

The crunch of scattered leaves adds a different note to the paved path.
Autumn Showstoppers

The leaves from the aspen trees are beginning to put on their annual show of colors in the canyon. The slanting afternoon light has taken on a different glow. Sadly, the days are getting shorter. Evenings are becoming chilly. And now, there’s that wonderful autumn smell. . .

So, I can’t tell you what to do, but if you are local, I can suggest a drive into this canyon to take in all of nature’s bounty of beautiful colors of autumn. It feels as if nature just opened her box of autumn crayons and colored the landscape overnight.

For locals – If you’re looking for a little autumn fun – Mark your calendars for the 11th annual Pumpkin Festival in the Lamoille Grove, October 14 – 15. 10:00 – 4:00 pm. Pumpkins, food, and beautiful views.
I hope you have enjoyed my travel views of the weekend. Thank you for stopping by Rustic and Refound.
