Living An Authentic Life

Welcome Autumn!

Autumn in the Aspen

Somewhere this is a special, special day for someone. I wish them well!

I have been pondering this post for some time. I’ve collected some of my own thoughts and some from others. So, I have found myself the curator to what is unfolding within me. As, I have been collecting some meaningful thoughts of my own and quotes from successful people and others that I have found inspirational. These are moments in time where you just need to stop and share those random collections of words.

This is not about home decor, recipes, or crafts. This is just a message.

Some time ago, I discovered a meaningful quote by George Bernard Shaw: “Life isn’t about finding yourself, Life is about creating yourself.”

So cautiously take the road less traveled.

I have wanted to create this authentic life outside my home as well as living within it. This takes me back to a New Year’s Resolution that I had several years ago that is to “Live intentionally.” We are only given’ one life, so live it to your fullest and your best!

“A man’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand his own way?” ~Proverbs 20:24

Here are those random thoughts and special quotes.

Dear Friends,

Go and live authentically…

Create more stacks of books.

Take more walks.

Have more slowing down time and take more time to listen.

More taking time to stop and smell the flowers.

More time for living your best life.

Light a candle! “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” Be your own special light and light someone else’s light.

More time for courage, because… “It is courage that counts” ~Winston Churchill

Don’t save anything for a special occasion. Being alive IS a special occasion. Make everyday a special occasion.

Women were built for great things… Hey, they give birth to babies!

“Never give up! Don’t be a quitter!” (Advice from my dad, Dave Iveson) …especially when it makes your heart happy.

“Everything that is real was first imagined.” ~The Velveteen Rabbit

“Never say you’re too old to do something, inexperienced or too tired to achieve something.” ~ Adrian Brannan

Be okay with yourself when you are perfectly imperfect.

If you feel like you’re a mess, own it! Move on, embrace it, and do something about it. Life is messy!

I hope you remember that life, living, and learning isn’t a spectator’s sport.

“We must make use of time because there is little enough of it.” ~ Harry Vold

(You might ask who Harry Vold is/was…Harry was a successful rancher, businessman, owner of rodeo bucking horses and bulls, owner of Vold Rodeo Company. A gentleman.) Harry’s quote was written down either by him or his daughter and she framed it and has it hanging on her wall. I loved his words of wisdom.

Have a pioneer spirit.

Remember; “Show girls don’t always make the best biscuits.” Perfection isn’t always necessary.

I hope to have inspired you in some small way, to go out and live more intentionally and authentically.

Have a beautiful day!
