A Bunny Spring Centerpiece and A DIYed Cake Stand
Anyone else ready for Spring? Because it’s almost here! Today I wanted to share a bunny spring centerpiece and a DIY-ed pedestal cake stand. Everything you see is quite affordable! Easy on the budget. When I spied these white bunnies, I couldn’t resist and so glad that I have added them to my decor.
What do you want to know first? Where I got these cute bunnies or how I made that cake stand? Let’s start with the bunnies. Believe it or not, I scored these ceramic bunnies from a local Family Dollar store. Yep, and they were only $5. I didn’t think that was too bad, so I bought three.
Now Let’s Chat About That Cake Stand
For this DIY cake stand or pedestal, you will need a candle stick holder, a plate, and E6000 glue. I found my wooden candlestick at Marshalls – $7.99 and the plate $.99 at Ross. These items are usually found anywhere, and vintage items are often found thrifting. Maybe you already have this at home. Sometimes shopping our homes first is the best – it’s free!
To make the cake stand pedestal, I simply glued the plate to the top of the candlestick. I let the glue sit overnight or until dry. This glue has exceptional strength and is great for wood and ceramic projects. And…is completely washable.
Directions
Step 1: Take your candlestick, whether it’s a vintage, metal one or a new wood one and wipe down the section you are to glue to the plate. Wash and dry plate, removing any stickers etc.
Step 2: On a table or flat surface, set your candlestick. Squeeze a bead or line of E-6000 glue around the edge of the candlestick section that will stick to the bottom of the plate.
Step 3: Stick the candlestick to the center of the bottom of the plate and let it set for 24 hours to dry properly or follow the directions on the E6000. Tip: I placed a small stack of books on top of the candlestick to help it dry in place.
Step 4: After the glue has dried, turn your plate upright and you have your very own cake stand pedestal to use in your decor, as a centerpiece, for display and so much more.
The following day, my cake stand was ready to use!
Here’s How I Put the Spring Tablescape Together!
This centerpiece came together with white bunnies, a neutral tea towel, yellow candles, a stack of white dishes, DIYed cake stand, & grocery store tulips + a few extras for a simple bunny spring centerpiece and that’s how I made that cake stand.
It was all meant to be! I added some vintage finds such as the white creamer with vintage silver ware & silver sugar bowl as a votive candle holder. That’s it!
I created a quick spring centerpiece to showcase this fun little collection. I simply laid out my tea towel as a table runner, then added a few dishes from my personal collection, the Family Dollar store bunnies and grocery store tulips! This look is super easy to achieve with just a few simple elements. The tulips and bunnies add a touch of spring while also keeping most everything on the neutral side. The tulips just add that pop of color. Hey, and Easter is just a few weeks away.
I hope I have inspired you in some way to create your own spring decor! I always look for being thrifty. During the times like we are experiencing now, it is such a blessing if we can decorate our homes in such a way that brings us peace and happiness. This can be no small feat. Thank you for stopping by Rustic and Refound! Please let me know what you think, as I love hearing from you! For more spring table inspiration see here.
I’m going to say a little wild west stylin’ for my wild west liven’, even though I’ve slowed down a little;)
