Shabby-Chic handmade Pumpkins

Shabby-Chic handmade pumpkins for the Fall season. I know it’s still summer and its hot! I can’t help it; I’m looking forward to Fall. In each season throughout the year, I take the time to be creative as it makes me feel happy.

I especially love the season of Fall and look forward to foraging and creating with natural textural items. After collecting some great textiles from tablecloths, salvaged spindles, and natural pumpkin stems, I created some handmade pumpkins using the gathered and salvaged.

Textile Handmade Pumpkins

Textile handmade pumpkins created from vintage tablecloths. Additional details have been added using a crocheted tablecloth used as lace to accentuate and finish the textile pumpkin off. It is all hand stitched. The lace details are accentuated with coffee staining or not.

A textile handmade pumpkin is finished with a chippy spindle and salvaged ribbon, making this a perfect addition to your holiday decor. I love finding one-of-a-kind items that have a history and tell a story.

I love upcycling items that can become statement and conversation pieces. Layered with antique lace which adds the frill and pretty texture.

Coffee-Stained lace

Stunning Shabby-Chic handmade pumpkins created from vintage, coffee-stained crocheted tablecloth and finished with a real pumpkin stem. This textile pumpkin has been embellished with remnants of collected ribbon and a white rose from heirloom wedding items.

A DIY – Shabby-Chic Handmade Pumpkin

You can make handmade pumpkins at home by gathering fabric circles around polyfill, tying them together with string, or stitching around the circle and gathering them closed. Add a stem using a cinnamon stick, wooden branch, dowel, spindle, or natural dried pumpkin stem. I collected the natural pumpkin stem from previous years pumpkins. Glue on vintage lace or buttons for a shabby-chic look. This becomes your stunning handmade pumpkin.
