Christmas in July
Merry Christmas in July!
Remember the candle holders that I made a few weeks back? Well, these spindle ornaments are made from the same bed frame.
Today’s post of Christmas in July is brought to you from my collective soul, to inspire and be inspired. Sharing how old pieces might hold a certain charm that new pieces can’t compete with. Decorating with simple pieces and found objects – spindles that hold the presence of history in them allows them to make conversation within the room rather than a story of mass production.
Warning! This post maybe photo heavy.
A Fir Branch in a Bucket
A fir branch in a bucket with wooden spindle ornaments became my muse for Christmas in July!
Rustic, Rural, & Reclaimed – Spindle Ornaments
These spindle ornaments are made out of salvaged bed spindles that I redesigned and repurposed into vintage inspired Christmas ornaments. Inspiring new from old. Parts from a weathered bed frame, white spindles have been influenced by distressing and recreating. These spindle ornaments have been hand-sanded, distressing to give them a very rustic feel. No two spindle ornaments will be alike, making them unique. I love the unexpected, where a bit of reclaimed old adds to its statement charm. It’s the precious imagination seen in a piece that entices it to just belong. I am excited to bring you my Christmas in July spindle ornaments.
I found this meaningful quote by George Bernard Shaw: “Life isn’t about finding yourself, Life is about creating yourself.” When I’m able to come across a rustic treasure that might no longer have the same meaning in life in which it was designed, and I can re-create it, I guess I have found myself.
Seasons of Christmas – Christmas in July
Looking forward to the turn of winter and the darkening nights and creating in solstice with the holidays in mind, it’s also a time to sit in the early darkness by the fire crafting notes to myself regarding the creations I have dreamed of designing. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy warm days of summer where I can spend time gardening, time with my horse, or time creating the unexpected such as Christmas in July ornaments.

As the seasons change, I’ll be looking forward to the turn of winter and the darkening nights creating and sitting by a fire in the woodstove. The winter solstice brings me inside where I enjoy creating tablescapes with thrifted and collected treasures. Not only do I enjoy creating, but handwriting a personal message, a note of appreciation in friendship and love conveying what joy someone has added to your life is what the season of giving is all about. Receiving a note card is a timeless delight. Possibly a lost art since technology has taken its place.
Thanks for stopping by Rustic and Refound! I hope that you enjoyed my post and I have inspired you in some small way.
