A Quiet Life & A DIY
A quiet life. Retirement is my quiet space. Nowadays I spend time at home cooking cleaning and doing all the household chores that wives often do. Since having a shoulder surgery where some physical limitations are evident, I have learned that a natural reaction to this has been to seek new hobbies and projects that can be done within the home – creativity, DIY projects, recycling, upcycling, cooking, and learning aspects of interior design. I’ve come to appreciate the value in slowing down, recessing and spending more time on the little things. Maybe some of this has been in my DNA all along and I have forced this into existence. Most of this has come from budget constraints, sustainability and recycling which is always on top of my mind. Most of all the content here at Rustic and Refound is based on this way of thinking.
I used to dream of a simple life. Now that it is here, sometimes I don’t know what to do with myself. Sometimes I just want to run screaming from the building. However, here I am. A Quiet Life & A DIY.
I recently read a quote that I really resonated with, “Reclaim your curiosity, your sense of adventure, and have some fun. Don’t take every moment of your life so seriously. Allow yourself to enjoy life.” ~Akiroq Brost
Now when a wild hair strikes to be creative – I don’t think, I just do it!
Easter is only a blink away and I thought I would share one of my recent DIY projects using materials that I had on hand and upcycled. Nothing was a recent purchase.
I kind of think they give the appearance of eggs in a nest. It just adds a bit more of a spring vibe.
