Please Pass the Cream & Sugar
Please Pass the Cream & Sugar
Tea for two. Two for tea. Please pass the cream and sugar. Collecting silver tea sets and crystal is a delightful pursuit that combines elegance, history, and craftsmanship.
I have always found beauty in detail, textures, layers, colors. I love to blend the old with new and balancing function with aesthetic. My aim is to achieve all of these qualities in whatever I designed or collect. I am always on the hunt for one-of-a-kind pieces – those that are timeless and tell a story of the past. Our homes are a reflection of this.
White and Silver… A Combination I Never Get Tired of
Collecting beautiful moments.
I enjoy rustic vintage pieces for decor which are old and characterful and as such show signs of wear and use consistent with age. White and silver add elegance and elevate one’s style. While adding interest and a sense of pretty; throw in the crystal and a few candles and you might have a date.
Vintage Silver
The perceived value of silver, and perhaps it pretty, shiny finish, coupled with the suggestion of being an heirloom, all add to our perception of not only something special, but elevates a space giving a classic European look to your home. No matter what it is, size, shape or style- vintage silver is one of those things I have a hard time walking by at a flea market or in the thrift store. Little bits of that silver always seem to catch my eye from across the room. I’ve been known to scour the flatware bins for random old pieces that are mixed in.
I just love the look of old vintage silver & collect pieces as I find them.
Collecting silver can range from items big or small. It can be something that can be as simple as flatware- or tea sets or bits and pieces of tea sets like random creamers and sugar bowls that I might happen upon. And allllll of it is good in my book.

Patina
I love dark patina of tarnish on silver just as much as I love that shiny polish. I do polish- and my anticipation for the look of a polished piece depends on the piece and my mood – if I will polish the silver before using it.
That dark finish that silver gets when you haven’t polished it… I love it.

Sterling silver tea sets gained popularity around 1790. They were durable, retained heat well, and became standard during the Victorian era.
Look for hallmarks indicating genuine silver. If you are interested in owning a tea set or coffee service, you can start here.
Remember, whether you’re drawn to the gleam of silver or the brilliance of crystal, each piece of crystal and silver tea set tells a story and invites you to savor moments of grace and tradition.
The Sparkle of Crystal
I like the idea of putting silverware into various shapes of vintage glass or crystal on a buffet. Crystal vases, no matter what they contain, have a way of elevating their contents. I have admired the look of crystal since I was a small child. The way that cut crystal bounces light around the room has always intrigued me. Displaying crystal and silver were a sign of hospitality. Crystal adds sparkle and sophistication to teatime. Look for sets with intricate patterns, delicate handles, and finely cut designs.
How beautiful would a crystal vase be at your coffee station to hold your spoons!
Sparkle & Shine
Cut crystal, glass, and silver definitely add that sparkle and shine to any tablescape or corner of your kitchen.
Mixed & matched & grouped all together they are just beautiful – Silver and crystal.
Large or Small Collections
I enjoy my collection of pieces large and small, odds and ends. For me, each piece tells a story and adds warmth and charm to my home.
I hope you have enjoyed my collection of silver and crystal, and this has provided you with a touch of inspiration.
