Handcrafted Wooden Breadboards
Is there such a thing as too many breadboards?
Handcrafted wooden breadboards? Indeed, one can never have too many! They are indispensable for meal preparation. Personally, I enjoy utilizing them for both their intended purpose and as decorative elements in my kitchen. Crafting these wooden breadboards is a delightful process, truly making them the kitchen’s unsung heroes.
Wooden breadboards are a beautiful addition to any style kitchen. They add warmth and a lovely texture. Breadboards are ideal for showcasing bread, cheese or fruit at casual gatherings. The grain of the wood serves up major style points, adding a touch of natural beauty to everything from meat-and-cheese spreads to table settings.
How I Styled My Breadboards
A favorite way to style breadboards is to layer different sizes against my white subway tile backsplash. Since cutting boards/breadboards come in all different shapes and sizes, they are also quite pretty stacked. They are perfect stacked together or layered leaning up against the wall. They are a great way to fill in empty wall space in your kitchen. The wood elements in light and dark stains add the perfect contrast.
Breadboards on Repeat
This is one I have talked about before. Stacking up those breadboards on the counter. I am a bit of a breadboard collecting kind of a girl- and I definitely have a hard time walking away from a board with great patina and character. So, my stack of breadboards might be a bit larger than most. But you can use as few or as many as you would like and get the look. Now lately I’ve been on a breadboard making kind of kick. So, with some left-over alder wood I created a few extra for my kitchen.
Handcrafted Wooden Breadboards in a Summer Kitchen
Gathering fresh items, and essential items such as pretty breadboards with some additional favorite finds can make a tabletop or kitchen counter come to life! Each board displays the organic imperfections of the wood and no two are exactly alike. Since no piece will be identical and will contain varying grains and often splits within the wood, help to embrace its organic beauty even further.
What’s prettier than croissants on a breadboard topped with a cloche?
My handcrafted wooden breadboards add a ton of warmth and character to my kitchen. I love mixing the wood tones. Bring in raw wood with breadboards to add patina and charm. We all know vintage, or new cutting boards are great for entertaining –say hello to a charcuterie board.
Decorative Purposes for Handcrafted Wooden Breadboards
Use them as a centerpiece on your dining table. Everything you put on top of a breadboard/cutting board makes it seem more substantial and important.
This board is for decorative purposes only.
Since I have made a few boards for the kitchen, I have sealed some to be food safe with food grade mineral oil.
