Three Things for a Simple Country Summer Table
Happy August!!! Folks… we are on the backside of summer!
So here it goes.
I found 3 things for a simple country summer table.
Fresh flowers, buffalo check napkins in a favorite color, and vintage collected silverware just might be the 3 things needed for a simple country summer table.
This is all about summer & simplicity – fresh white pottery, collected flatware & simple, pretty white blooms and Buffalo checked table linens.
Summer entertaining is always a favorite time for creating beautiful tables with centerpieces with fresh flowers and layers of pretty details. Creating magic and making memories with your guests is such a feel-good thing.
Buffalo Check
What is it about big old buffalo checks? I found that I might be a bit obsessed with them. Buffalo check is both nostalgic and fresh.
These pretty gray Buffalo check ‘napkins’ have a secret.
Freshen up your table with a classic look of a Buffalo check print. Buffalo check is such a fun print to add to your country decor. It’s great for picnic baskets and sets a relaxed stage for both indoor and outdoor use. I found these pretty check ‘napkins’ at JoAnn Fabrics. Secret is … they are actually kitchen hand towels. That’s right! I loved the little ruffle at the bottom and thought they would make petty napkins instead. Sometimes it’s all about thinking outside the box.
I pulled a few things from my cache of all things table to create a simple look for a small brunch. I grabbed simple white dishes, crystal glasses and vintage silver flatware for the place settings. It is all about the mix and mingle- not the matchy-matchy. Simple modern plates with vintage flatware and cut glass to create an interesting look on the table. Fun, but simple and pretty.
More Buffalo Check
While out shopping I came across not one item of Buffalo check, but I also found this tablecloth in green and white check at Walmart. Whether it is a little table for two in the garden, a small bistro set or a long table to entertain friends and family a tablecloth makes a statement. It lends to a cozy farmhouse feel. Setting a beautiful table is a favorite thing over here. For me there is always something about a tablecloth that says, simple elegance. Table linens add another layer of style to your table. Whether that means coordinating the colors, keeping it plain and simple or creating a beautiful contrast for some drama. I chose to keep it simple – with white.
You know this green and white check tablecloth can work well into the holiday seasons.
Vintage Silver Flatware
You would never believe where I found this pretty silverware. Remember when we ventured into the mountains for a camping trip? While visiting a small town I ran across a yard sale. That’s right. I picked up several types of vintage silverware. My husband swears that I can smell a yard sale from miles away.
Fresh flowers
Put the finishing touches on your table with…
Flowers are always on the table setting plan. Whether it is a large statement bouquet or just some simple Baby’s Breath provides the perfect accent for a little relaxed dining. This arrangement is a perfect pairing with the green and white buffalo linen on the table, and not a lot of cost was spent for fresh flowers.
Hurry folks, summer is slipping away! I hope I have provided a little summer inspiration for a table setting with buffalo check linens – just another way to add layers of happy to your table.
Happy Wednesday!
