A Cozy Autumn Candle with a Little Repurposing
A cozy Autumn candle with a little repurposing. It’s cooling down for the fall season and for me that means bring on all the texture with dried flowers, candles and cozy throws. Today, I want to show you a favorite way to add a little texture and cozy to your home while repurposing a jar that I had broken the lid to – to create a cozy autumn candle. If you know me, you know that repurposing around my home is a creative past-time. When you have lived on a budget, have loved home decor, you find a way to repurpose, reuse, or duplicate what you like to fit your desires within that budget.
This is super simple and budget friendly. I used lentils that I purchased at the grocery store. A large glass jar previously purchased at a local Walmart (remember I had broken the lid), and the candle is a Leather and Embers, with a crackling wood wick, previously purchased at Target. The only item that was a recent purchase were the lentils.
What You Need to Create a Cozy Autumn Candle
- A large glass jar
- 1 – 1 & 1/2 bags of lentils
- Favorite fall candle
Clean glass jar –
Lentils –
Step 1
Using a large jar fill the jar fill to almost 3/4 full using 1 & 1/2 bags of lentils. After adding your lentils to the jar, you are going to add your favorite scented fall candle.
Step 2
Add a favorite fall scented candle. Push the candle down into the lentils. I didn’t push the candle down too far into the lentils where they might spill over into the candle. I only pushed the candle down into the lentils as far as the top of the wax, you should want to see the flame of your candle. That is my opinion. The glow from the candle’s flame is what adds to the ambiance.
How I styled My Cozy Autumn Candle
A cozy Autumn candle with a little repurposing.
Style 1
I kept my styling super simple just to show this cozy autumn candle by placing it on one of my handmade bread boards.
Style 2
Again, super simple styled in a wooden bowl with two dried artichokes. All neutral colors and tones. Keeping it all with fall/Autumn vibes.
There. You have it. That’s all I did to create a cozy Autumn candle with a little repurposing. This is a little Fall/September vibe you can do in your home. I think you could probably do this with most any wide mouthed jar and smaller sized candle.
A little disclaimer… this wasn’t a Rustic and Refound original idea. I followed and borrowed the idea from @thebroken.oak.
