I am a retired educator and currently a “Stay-at-home engineer.” That’s what I like to call my self for the time being. My hobbies are team roping, riding my horses, gardening, decorating my home and creating home décor with discarded or reinvented items. When I’m not enjoying my horses and team roping, I’m junkin’.  This is just a part of who I am as it stirs the creative juices. My husband, Pat, and I surround our life with the love for all things western, ranch, and cowboy that include team roping.

We currently own a few corriente heifers that are primarily roping cattle.

Being creative is a passion that I do readily enjoy.

I like old furniture. I have an obsession with furniture! Mostly chairs.  I enjoy collecting furniture to re-do. Sometimes I like it as is, or I like to put my own spin on it using paint and new fabric (sometimes cowhide). I like the mix of the rustic and the new. I’m the kind of girl who would drag an old chipping piece of furniture home from a yard sale and put it in the my home. I enjoy mixing the old with the new maybe the modern. I like old benches. I like western decor, french country, the rich designs of Ralph Lauren, and flowers. I think flowers go with everything!  I love setting a table with vintage china and fine stemware, and somewhere in the mix might be elk antlers, flowers, and something refound. I like decorating with what I love. I enjoy walking into a room filled with treasures from the past that have made memories. I love traditions! This is what inspires me and makes me happy – This is when a room is perfection. My idea is to add charm and character with a spunky design. I like things that create conversation. I love creating an ambiance that invites interesting conversations and laughter that will linger a bit longer.

I have grown up in the west on a ranch, so the western way of life is nothing new to me. My ranching history brings a great nostalgia for me or romance for others.

I feel…“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved.”

–Winnie the Pooh.
